I have not bolt it. I try to clip it and the back move up. And under the hood, I can see a mark where the UIM hits. Trust me the hood won't close.

whats the problem with cutting a small section out of the underside hood support? just cut the damn thing around the area its hitting, or beat it in with a mallet.
