143 with me in a s5 t2 and my friend in a n/a coverted to t2. We were coming back from tampa and a clear full stretch of highway beckoned us. I was stable all the way through. I bet the re-amen wing helped a bit though.

Did 135 in my GXL racing a crossfire at like 5am. 4th Gear. Speedos are hardly ever accurate at that speed. Went about 130 in the turbo the otherday and it got too shaky, but she will go faster someday soon with some suspension work, wheels/tires.

people that bitch about the stock suspension always amaze me
what the hell are you used to driving, a formula one car? the stock suspension on FC's (the /good/ factory suspension, not the 4 bolt one) in good shape is one of the most competant stock suspensions on any vehicle I've ever driven, and compliments the chassis very well... a big long straight flat runway + an awesome stock suspension = is not going to cause trouble
jeezus, people went 160mph in domestic land barges back in the 60's, and I can promise you even the best aftermarket 'vette suspension from back then has NOTHING on a stock TII/vert/ gxl suspension.
I guess that's my rant for the evening.
140mph in an n/a vert is pretty impressive! My TII would do that stock, but only just.
did you have the top down!? (my guess is no, it probably won't do much past 120 with it down due to drag)

ahahahahaha Fastest ive ever been on I90 is about 130. those damn tunnels come up WAY too fast.
Are you old enough to rember the opening in the middle that they used to have. Looked like the hood canal bridge. I never woulda done it on that one, but the new bridge is beautiful.

hey, I hope you checked all the tires, suspension, bushings, sway bar links etc....I'd hate to have anything break at anything over 80 mph.........at least get a cage in there if you're going to be doing this often....

Natural selection at work. Y'all are driving at those speeds in 18 year old cars. I love my FC but I'd never endanger her by ever going over that fast. All it'd take is for a tire to blow, an axle or some othe suspension part to break, you'd loose control and total your rotary wonder car. Now could you live with yourself after letting something like that happen to your baby?
A new definition for the Speed of Sound: The speed at which you're passenger is screaming his/her head off because they are scared to death or too excited to express their selves.

AH HAHAHAHA
You guys are spoiled!!
I've had my B2200 Pickup up to 125 mph before I let off with all the bushings bad and lowered 3 inches.
Compared to that my 87 RX7 with original suspension is like a brick at 125 mph.
Edit: *reads post above*
That was a few years ago and I was an irresponsable moron to do it on I-81, I go up to VIR to pull crap like that now.

To be honest, I think that if the car can't run up to 130 or so safely, it is far from a "rotary wonder car." It's not like we are talking mach speeds here.

Edit: NA + some downhill action....
90 gtu, custom intake, exuast, rb spings tokico shocks/struts, stock wheels, tires.
And to comment, imo, things go very fast at that point, too fast.

I did about 130 mph in my stock NA'88 SE. That was redline in 4th gear. Motor wouldn't pull much more in 5th. Makes me want more horses, but I'm NA so there isn't a quick solution. I want to max out the 150 speedo. Maybe just some Nitrous for the one time giggle factor?

Ok maybe it's just me but 120ish doesn't seem so fast to me. But then again I just got done with my crazy I'm gonna drive as fast as I possibly can on the interstate teenage years just a couple years ago. My best speed(non rx7 seeing as how I'm still tryin to get one) was 130, in an 85 Mitsubishi Mighty Max pickup. lol Never could figure out how it did that.

Rotaries confuse me

I've done about 120 on I-75 north of Knoxville in my 86 Sport. Yes, it was extremely stupid.
Setup:
Stock
Wal-Mart tires (yay for no money)
I got scared and backed off, for good reason. My tires were probably about to give me the finger. I will say this though, the car was AMAZINGLY stable. I was extremely surprised considering I was doing this all on 20 year old parts.

I've done 120 around once a month for years to decarbonize the engine.
Been to 140 & climbing only a few times.
Road conditions, cops & traffic always seems to get in the way of a top end run.
I was only going 60 when that truck pulled out in front of me.
