12a and 13b 5-spd same length or what?

Guys,

Is a 12a/5spd and a 13b/5-spd the same length? just wondering if we can stuff a 13b 5spd into a 1st gen. We sat a 13b in it, and the 12a-5spd just didn't hold up (it munched itself after some launches). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

It's the same trans internally. There will be no strngth gain.

You can do the swap if you swap the 1st-gen's tailhousing assembly over, the mounts and shifter are different.
