Thanks for the tips.

I checked on my lunch break, the double throttle diaphragm works, and stays...closed(?) while the car is cold. I pinched the vacuum line on the back of the TB with the check valve, and would see it actuate. It had no affect to the surging idle, and I was able to close and open it without affecting the surging. It did stay open after the car warmed up.

After the car warmed up, I noticed stepping on the brakes would cause idle dip and surging. I have video of that here:

I also tried the AC to see if it jumps up, seems like its trying to do something?

I'll have to take a look at the BAC again when I get home. Didn't really have any tools to pinch the lines going to it or anything.

And for some reason....I could not get the car to idle at 1100rpm after pressing on the gas like in my first post. I'd tap the gas, it'd hang briefly at around 1100rpm, then dip back down to 500 before recovering to 750-ish.

Just thinking out loud here.

I noticed that the cold start idle surge does happen more quickly after my car has been sitting outside in the sun. If I drive my car during my lunch, the idle surge happens after about 1 minute of being on, compared to 3-4 minutes first thing in the morning (garaged). This would probably point to the thermowax?

I tried adjusting my idle again last night, grounding the green terminal to the negative terminal on the battery, but I noticed that after a certain point, I keep turning the screw but the idle isn't really changing past 750-ish rpm. I'd have to go a full turn again to see the idle change.

Only one way to find out.

Are you trying to go up or down with the idle?

Sorry, I should have said raising the idle.

When i was stepping on the brake the idle would dip to 500rpm and hunt and almost stall, so I figured raising the idle would help.

I have a carb swapped FC doing the same exact thing. It's related to the ignition, as it's the only thing our cars have in common.

Yes, I have a carb'd FC using factory ignition+ECU...

Well, just as an update I haven't touched my idle since the last time I posted in here, and the low idle/dip thing seems to have corrected itself.

Still getting the hanging idle, I just haven't had time to take apart the TB to clean out the thermowax and inspect.

Another thing i've noticed is a strange hissing noise at higher RPM, seems to be coming from the driver's side, as well as a loss of power in the upper RPM's again. I'm suspecting the hissing could be from the vents on the rats nest solenoids. Has anyone experienced or heard of this before? I remember when I first brought my car to Lucky7, they said some debris was stuck in the hardlines of the rats nest that was blocking the VDI actuator from...actuating.
