10th Anniversary Question

I was wondering if there is anyway that you can tell by the VIN what production # the car is? Because I read there are only 1500 US I called Mazda but was no help.

The VINs are basically random. 10AEs were made from TIIs randomly pulled from the line.

Yes, there are about 1500.

I am pretty sure the Paint code in the VIn # will tell you if its a true 10 AE ... but there is easier ways to tell. And Im not quite sure what letter the Paint code is, but I'm sure someone knows.

-Paint Code is "UC" Crystal White
-8th VIN digit should be a 2 indicating a turbo
-10th digit should be a J indicating it is an 88

That's not what I've heard... but they're an arm and a leg. Something like $120 if I recall correctly. Someone posted in a thread quite a few months ago that his mazda dealership was able to supply him with them. Do a search and you might find it. He might have been from Canada...
