You mean the TII side skirts and stuff? I think they look cool on any FC. There was no special 'ground effects package' for the AE, they just had the original TII stuff on them.

btw, I don't think the S4 TII had any "ground effects" package at all, especially the AE. Sure, it had the wing but thats about it - the only S4 to have an OEM mazda ground effects kit was the sport and front lip extension and rear spats could ahrdly be called a kit hehe

my 10ae doesn't have any different body stuff aside from the scoop, paint, mirrors, and spoiler compared to my '88gx or '86 base.

Yup, the S5 TII has very nice and subtle side skirts. They are extremely hard to find. Plus they had a lower lip too.

Yep- no side skirts.
They make a great addition to the body though. I put TII side skirts and the big front lip (Yes, I found one!) on mine, made it look MUCH beefier.'

The Sport model's aero kit (front and rear wheel deflectors, small rear spoiler, and undertray) was supposed to be standard on 87 Turbos but I have seen very few that actually have it. The aero kit was standard on 88 Turbos and all of them have it EXCEPT the 1500 Anniversary cars.

Are there any more pictures of the 10th anniversary above? What wheels are those and what size and offset are they? That car looks awesome.

Those are 57 Pro's Volk Racing Gram Lights.

17 X 8 40mm Offset
17 X 9 35mm Offset

Running Kumho's
255's and 225's. Maybe 245's. I have not seen the car in two months and aluminum dust really kills those brain cells!!

Thanks about the comments on the car. The pictures does it good thanks to eVilRotor who took the pictures at shannonville race track this summer. See link below for a couple of pictures.

No, not on the 87 Turbos. The aero kit only came on the only on the 88 Turbos and 88 GTU (as well as the 86-87 Sport).

87.5 brochure... note only the Sport had the aero kit:

And everyone please notice that the 10thAE did come with the aerokit. In the bottom left hand picture you can see the front fender and the front lower aero kit part (as did all 88 Turbos).:

And also please note, that the lower aero kit panels will fit any S4 FC including 'verts.

why is everybody so concerned about what other people think about their cars? yes the t2 ground effects look good on all fcs. you should mod your car the way you feel it should be modded. other people shouldn't sway your opinion on what you like or don't like.

just to clear something up, the t2 ground effect kit that i was referring to were the ones that came on 89-91 t2s. my 88 gtu had the "aero kit" the 10th anny had. looked more like trim than ground effects.

Icemark I don’t think he is talking about the black piece under the front bumper cover I think he is talking about the side panels on the S5 TII as shown on this site

I have Two 10th AE's and neither one of them have the side panels. As far as I know they never came with it!

Okay for the people that didn't understand...

There were two aero kits from the factory.

The first one was found on the 86-87 Sport, the 88 GTU, and the 88 Turbos (including the 10th AE). This kit included rubberized spoilers in front of each wheel, a metal panel around the oil pan, and a rear spoiler. This kit dropped the aero drag from .31 Cd to a remarkable .289 Cd. Again, this kit was on every 10th AE that left the factory.

The top picture here shows a 86 sport with the aero kit, and you can clearly see the spoilers in front of each wheel (comparied to the GXL at the bottom):

Again every single 10th AE made came with those same little spoilers in front of the wheels.

This is the metal underpanel marked 56-11Y that came with that kit:

The second aero kit was called the ground effects kit and found only on the 89-91 Turbo. It consisted of a front lower bumper panel or skirt, and two multi piece side skirt panels. However this kit did not change the aero dynamic drag as measured in Cd for the better, as frontal area actually increased sizably.

This is the ground effects or aero kit for the S5 Turbo:

There was also the finish line kit, that was dealer installed for the S4 cars, but since it really didn't come from the factory, it is not included here (other than this minor note).

Since M.C. Language the starter of this thread said the 10th AE, there is only one aero kit that came on the 10th AE, the one covered above as the first kit.

And if anyone does not have all 6 peices of the first aero kit on their 10th AE, then they are missing parts.

I know what you are talking about now. I don’t have the little spoilers in front of the rear wheels on either one of my 10th AE's also looked at my friend Joey's 10th and his don’t have them either. There is no holes or any sign that those ever existed on any of the cars mentioned. .......HUH?

The AE I'm about to buy doesn't have it either. Weird.
