1 quick ? about TB mod
i did the TB mod to a friend of mines T2 the other day. it was pretty simple actualy, i was surprised. but im not sure if i did it right. the problem is, now that we put the car back together and actualy drove it, it seems to hesitate whenever you snap the throttle wide open. i mean, if you just mash the pedal to the floor real quick, the car bucks like its missing or something. is this a side effect of the TB mod or did i do something wrong? i used the writeup on RETeds site and followed it pretty well i thought. i was planning to do the mod to my T2 pretty soon, but i dunno now. please tell me this hesitation/buck/stutter is not common to the TB mod.

yeah thats what i figured. i thought the TB mod would help or at least not hurt throttle response. i like being able to jab the throttle when i want to, i dont want to have to slowly ease into the gas to get the car to acclerate. another question for you though.....would the car still hiccup if it had a standalone ECU? the mod is supposed to improve flow, i know that, and it simplifies the hell out of the upper manifold assembly, which is a big plus in my book. i plan on going Haltech eventualy so i would like to do this mod still, if for nothing else but the fact that it makes the engine a little more simple, but not if its going to hurt the cars driving characteristics.

With a bit of practice you'll figure out how quickly you can open the throttle without any hesitation, and you'll realise throttle response is still much better than it was before.
would the car still hiccup if it had a standalone ECU?

im not really bitching about it, hell its not even on my car, i did it to my friends car cuz he asked me too. i just always thought it was supposed to be this great mod to do to a FC that had littlt to no downsides. i didnt expect the change to be that drastic. im sure i could get used to it if i did it to my car, but i dont think ill be doing it now, i just dont like it. i dunno though, ill experiment with my friends car, drive it some more and all. then ill make up my mind wether or not i want to rip up my TB.
