What is phoenix7's problem?
Anyway, some more trivia if you care.
The 12A, oddly enough, is actually 1146cc, meaning that they should have rounded it down and called the the 11A (or whatever). I suppose they rounded it up to make the difference look bigger between the 982cc 10A and the 12A, which were both options on non-US RX-2s and RX-3s.
There was also an 8A 798cc one-rotor engine used in the first prototype Cosmo Sport, and a 40A ~400cc(?) single-rotor test engine. There was also the 13A, which was very different from the 13B; it was a 1310cc two-rotor used in the R-130. Mazda also had 8A- and 10A-based 4-rotor concept engines called the 3805 and 2002 respectively.
Though never available from Mazda, there have also been several "17As" (custom 12A-based 3-rotor), "23As" (12A-based 4-rotor), "5As" and "7As" (custom single-rotor engines), and even one attempted 6-rotor made by Hurley Engineering (dunno if it ever ran or not).

Just theoretically speaking... if one we're to try to make a 12A-based 3-rotor engine, it would come out to be a 1.8l, no? though I'm no expert with 1st gens; I don't think there was ever a 12AT (turbo'd 12A). Even so, if one could fabricate or purchase an e-shaft for a 12A based 3-rotor, and turbocharged it, it is possible. no?
Though probably the guy who listed it just doesn't know his ****; a 12a-based turbo'd 3-rotor would probably draw PLENTY of attention, and he would HAVE to know his car pretty damned well.

well when you ask questions like this can you blame ppl for thinking you're a super noob??? It's common sense man. BMW 325= #series body 2.5L engine. 318i= 3 series body 1.8L and so forth.

And yes there is such a thing as a turbo 12A. It was an option on the FB and it was japan only I think, was never available in north america anyway. It is why the FC is called the Turbo II, it's the second turbocharged RX-7.
Did you see this car in the paper or on the forum?
Dont you think it would be pretty safe to assume that it was a simple typo???
1.3 - 1.8 ???
So who is the moron the guy that had a small typo or the guy that had to ask if there really was a 1.8?

Funny read...anyways...brother in law has a BMW 323, with the 2.5L engine, but apparently smaller brakes. Also, Mercedes C240, for example, sometimes has a 2.6L engine AFAIK. Can't trust the Badges anymore...
