Question 1/4 time for my n/a

Today was my first time at the track. I really din't know what time to expect but I was hoping to get atleast high 15's. My first run was 16.429 with a 60' of 2.521. Second run was a bit better as you can see on the time slip attached. Should I be running these times with my mods? Is my engine tired or am I just a really crappy driver? I was the only RX-7 out there so I couldnt talk to another rotorhead and compare times/ask questions bout my car.

Seems about right... I did a 15.8 with these mods:

Street Port
89-91 internals/flywheel
Racing Beat Clutch
Hollow Cats/Stock exhaust manifold
Apexi N1 Catback
K&N Intake

i did a 16.1 with no mods.

just get your 60' down to atleast a 2.2 and the entire run will look a lok better. your mph was +2 of mine (i ran 83) so you can go faster in the car with practice.

Ya I would think you could get in the 15s easy. I mean don't they run low 16s stock? With the exhaust & intake I would think it would knock off at least a second. I'll find out soon enough.

your 60ft' time is way to high. the launch really sets the tone for the rest of the run. you are almost at a 2.5 60ft. it should be more towards a 2.3. .2 doenst sound like much of a differnce but it really is. how are you launching your car? did you spin, bog, get any wheel hop? you should be faster than that.

I dropped the clutch at like 4k rpms. I got little wheel spin and from what I remember I din't bog the car or got wheel hop. Maybe dropping the clutch was my mistake? I havent raced my car in a looooong time so I was trying to remember how I used to launch my car :P This was my first time ever at the strip and I'm really looking forward to the next one. Can some1 tell me the proper way to launch the car? Thanx
