1/2, street, etc porting pointless or not

So after reading a few things like on mazdatrix, they say for the 86-92 6port....our cars that there wasnt a substantial gain in hp in comp to the 1st gen .... because of the way sumthin was made diff....... an also says should be new rotors housing or w.e an tht they wouldnt do cetain work to the n/a rotors anyway would have to switch them to the turbo'd ones .................. so basically im askin what should i do because i wanttttt the hp gain an sickkk sound of it aswelll but whts the pricetag goin to be. becasue also it said they would be no use in takin a running motor down to do it .........
my car 86 GXL 200K on it an stilllllll kickin it

Street porting will give you increases if you have header, exhaust and such. No sound difference really.

Mazdatrix doesn't like to reuse much in their rebuilds. And at 200k, you need a rebuild anyway. Might as well bite the bullet and get a rebuild, and if you decide it's worth it to get the porting done, do it.

With good oil metering the housing chrome can still look very good. On the 175,000 mile-old engine I tore down last year, the front housing could have been reused. The rear housing had a lot of chatter and would have started flaking soon... but the oil metering line to the rotor housing was broken for who knows how long.

street porting will bring in some power. I wouldnt go bridgeport if its a daily driven car.

You wont know what parts to replace until the engine is apart. But if it has 200k miles, I would say normally, both housings would need replacing. But it can be in perfect condition, wont know until you take the engine apart. You will definitely need new apex seals, side seals, and soft gaskets.
Seeing how its a n/a engine, a good rebuid with a large street port on turbo housings (n/a housings have the inserts in the exhaust), a good exhaust, and intake setup, and a way to tune the engine whether rtek or a standalone will give you some pep. Also, make sure the 5/6 ports are working, and is compatible with the exhaust setup.

Drop in low end power on a car that already is lacking it.
