0psi oil press...What the...

ok. so, you all heard about the heater hose that runs under the oil filter to the fire wall right? it gets saturated w/ oil from oil changes, swells, weakens, and ruptures. so it happend to me.

i ordered the freakin $25 rubber hose from 'Trix, put it on in 40 min, filled up, started the bad boy. and... NO oil press.

i clearly have pressure, cuz i drove the car around all night, shootin flames and havin fun, and didnt blow anything. so, does this mean i ruined something while takin my hose off?

there wsa this single black wire w/ a white connector runnin to the wire loom from the back of the motor that got in the way...u think this would be an oil press. sender, and i just broke the wire inside?

what should i look for? anyone got experience w/ this?

thanks
chris

Right below the oil filter is the sender unit for the oil pressure guage, i suspect you either knocked it off or bumped it enough not to make contact or something else similar.

You car has a hose going to the heater in that area???????
Your car has a heater??????/ dayum must be one of the luxury models

Mine didn't help me go any faster so it got the flick in the interest of weight saving.

yeah the oil presure sender is right there. there is a single wire with a clip on it. I bet the clip came off.

ruh roh... yea, i was sorta clumsy removing the heater hose from the engine. or should i say, 'not using surgical precision when removing..'

so i take it, theres a sensor screwed into the side of the rotor housing, and the wire clips on to it, and i probably knocked it loose when i took off my hose. is that about the jist of it?

im assuming thats whats goin on down there. i think im gonna go degrease the engine, and then check that sensor under the filter, and wash the car, and remove all the leaves and debris from between my rad and oil cooler. i think thats why it runs half-way up the temp guage when sittin still. thanks bro.
