CO *Sigh* Dam you to hell tach! No solution?

I have this annoying persistent problem with my tach When I bought my TII I noticed the tach would't work evey once in a while. Sometimes I would start the car and it would be perfect other times after sitting overnight I would start the car and the tachometer would not work. This went on and off for a while until it got progressively worse. I tried it all, swapped coils and nothing, checked my wiring and didn't find anything wrong then I swapped the tach itself by taking apart the gauge cluster. It worked! I can't believe it it freaking works......Well time goes by a few months or so....It, it it can't be the problem is back. WTF?

Sometimes the tach will work fine others it will sputter to life after some long driving, it will bounce, drop, bounce drop a few times until it steadies out and works fine.

I hate this, anybody have any insight?

Assuming this weirdness is localized to the tach only, I'd guess wiring/connectors.
You could verify this by running a new wire from the coil to the tach, bypassing the stock harness entirely.
If the problem goes away, you have your answer.

That will probably be the next thing to do. I guess it's back to the drawing board and to find time to pull the gauge cluster and trace wiring. It's so random though, it's not like the clock problem where it goes in and out as I'm driving. The car could just be sitting.

By the way you wouldn't be interested in some TII wheels, would ya? haha I have quite a few extra parts I want to move.
