*QUICK o2 sensor question*

With the o2 sensor unplugged, does it gererally cause the engine to run leaner or richer? (s5 NA) Thnaks!

It should cause the car to stay in open loop, wich will cause it to run rich.

Before the misinformation starts...

Disconnecting the O2 sensor will have practically no effect on mixtures. The O2 sensor is only used during low-load cruise and then only has a minor effect on mixtures. On average the mixtures will be slightly richer than when in closed-loop. For the rest of the time (which is most of the time) there will be zero effect. You will not notice any difference when driving or lose any performance, but average fuel consumption will be a few percent higher.

yes, nz is correct. and if that isnt enough to convince, i just had a little test on the vert last week, o2 unplugged and o2 plugged in, the a/f meter read exactly the same either way, except during the low load cruising, where it just bounces from lean to rich like a light show with the o2 plugged in.
