Question *HESITATION* NOT the 3800rpm hesitation!!

only happens when i make hard turns... it bucks like if it were the 3800 rpm heitaion... VERY violently !!
at first i thought it was because i was low on gas so i got a 1/4 of a tank and did the same thing all night... im thinking maybe a fuel filter?? its about 6 months new... could the fuel pump be doing n e of this? i also have a bad problem with floodingat start up.... my car starts better when cold but i still have to use the fuel cut off switch... when its warm it takes alot longer to turn on ....
thanks in advance for u guys' help

Fuel filter/screen on the fuel pump itself is clogged. Either get a new one or soak that one in acetone overnite. Or, take that screen off, reinstall the pump and go for a ride. If it still does it, then it ain't the filter/screen. Could be the regular fuel filter though. Change it and see what happens. Start with the one in the fuel tank attached to the fuel pump first.

thanks hailers! but COULD THAT BE LINKED TO MY flooding somehow?? being clogged it would restrict fuel to the injectors right ? i will prolly replace both but i just wanted to see if n e one had the same prob ...

A dirty fuel filter wont cause flooding. However as a filter deteriorates junk will make it to the injectors and clog them. Solve the bucking issue and run some fuel injector cleaner.

Actually dirty fuel filters can cause flooding, by the dirty fuel forcing itself past the clog filter elements...

Doesn't take a very large particle to make it past the fuel filter to clog an injector open

I was mostly just talking about the bucking during cornering. We've seen that problem on this forum and in a few cases its led us to the filter screen on the fuel pump. Its really not too big a deal to pull the pump and either swap the filter screen or soak it in some acetone.

But that does not help all cars. Could be just a loose plug on the afm that is getting pulled loose on cornering then reseats itself.

Notice how I've avoided the question about the flooding???? Thats a bag of worms. Dirty fuel injectors maybe, but I just saw a post by Fat Dirty Pig , who says he just had his cleaned and still has the problem. Low compression will cause the same problem on startup. Some say a car with low compression might start good when cold because the oil around the rotor seals is thicker than when the car is hot, therefore gives a good start when cold but not hot.

Bag of worms. I know when I've rebuilt a engine, with one exception, the cars flooded easily and were hard to start in the beginning. Thats due to low compression on a rebuild because the apex seals have not seated/broken loose for the first hour or two. So I rig a fule cut switch initially to keep from wearing out the starter.

Bag of worms.
