I've got a 88 FC N/A all stock(besides cat back) 5spd an here lately its not wanting to start an sometimes it will sputter once it is running an hesitation between 3-4k.Ive added anti freeze to the cold start pump an didn't seem to help. She's getting fuel an spark,an hasn't thrown a cel once.Maybe electrical issues it did blow the ecu fuse under the hood a few months back, but since then no issues with relays or fuses. If anyone could lead me in the right direction that would be awsome an much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Without knowing a whole lot, it could be a number of things. By not start sometimes, do you mean it doesn't crank over, or doesn't actually run after cranking for a while? The hesitation at 3800 rpm is a very common issue with the FC, and a quick search will yield you more info than I can give. Basically, you just clean up the ecu ground points. There are plenty of writeups on it. It won't throw a check engine light.... there isn't one. The "cold-start" assist is actually a "sub-zero" start, and it's worthless. Fuses just blow sometimes from age. If you replace it once and have no issues, then there's probably nothing wrong. If it happens more than once in a short period of time then it's time to start looking for shorts.

Anyways, what I think you may be experiencing is periodic flooding due to possible low compression. Search how to do a compression check on a rotary. It's different than for a piston engine. It'll tell you a lot about overall health of the engine, and should be done every once in a while to get an idea of what's going on with the "base engine".

Good luck
