hey there my fellow 7 rotor-heads,

I need your help guys, my 1991 convertible is having some issues, its no longer running. so heres the scoop,

I have had this car for only 5 months it has had a issue where the engine light would come on and in the instant the car would loose rpms and act as if it was having a fuel cut out then it would pick back up the light would stop blinking and it would run fine...

well as i was driving last week it "Sputtered to a stop as i was driving. after being stopping it would not start again.

now what???

Try pulling codes first.. OMP will probably be in there.

Thirded. You will most likely have to replace the MOP (Some people call it the OMP) and the ECU as they tend to take each other out.

You can generally find these parts for sale on the forum used for <$100 total.

I've got a series five omp for you if it is the culprit, pretty cheap

i have a 90 vert with identical symptoms that threw a code 20 which is in fact the OMP - your car is putting you into limp mode for its own protection. check the codes, you will probably see 20, 27, or 28 (or a combination of the three) - you'll likely need a new OMP and/or ECU if the issue has been happening long enough. to be safe, put some 2-stroke oil in the gas tank (1 oz / gallon) until you fix whatever is going on. I also have a current thread regarding this same issue.
