$200 steal

ok, so i have an 85 GSL-SE, but originally i always wanted a second gen, yesterday while driving past a used car lot, i saw a white 7 sitting in the back with a white paper in the window, coming back i stoped and asked about it, they said it was just repossessed 3 days ago, the woman who owned it stoped paying on it, and parked it behind her friends house where it sat with no plugs and wires for about 5 months, until the car lot finally found it and took it, she told them it was blown up..

the mechanic at the lot put new plugs/wires on it and tried to crank it, never got it to run so he gave up basically and said it was really blown, i looked it over good and said i would takr it off their hands for $200 as is, they agreed.. i came back about an hour later with a trailer, after the papers were signed, title in my name so the car was mine, pulled the top plugs and put some oil down them(all i had was straight 50w racing oil) turned it over for alittle bit, got in and fired it up, filled their yard up with smoke for about 5 minutes, ran perfect.. so i drove it on the trailer and left

not a scratch, dent or ding on the outside, the ONLY problem.. is theres no antana, and the right front headlight dosent go all the way down... needs to be adjusted i think

inside the faceplate is gone from the cd player, and the plastic around the center dash is all cracked...

was it a good deal ?

Yeah that was a Steal... It aparently is a running FC, the worst you could do is resale it for $800, a good deal for someone else and you make 300% Profit... Nice...

Great score! That's how I used to get them years ago, but I didn't have the ***** to start it in front of them..I would usually take them home and get a push start until they fired and have myself a nice FC for almost no money..

if i had a camera with me i would of taken a picture of the look on their faces, but it wasnt a pleasant look at all, theres was momment when they just sort of looked at eachother then stared at me while i was messing with the engine, then when it fired... and the smoke billowed out, they almost laughed, then when the smoke cleared... it was that "jaw dropping" momment if you will, then some whispering and glaring

it is a plain jane 7, no power anything, not even power steering, 4 lug... crappy tires etc... atleast it has dark tinted windows and ice cold air, but its what i wanted, that body style, its going to be my street legal project the engine seems to be in great shape, nice clean oil, the engine bay is clean, runs great and has good power

under the car is clean too, the shocks/struts look newish, springs are old and dirty though

either way, im happy with it

BTW, this isnt the first time, my dad did the same thing with a camaro, got it from a car lot or $250, they couldnt get it to run, sold it to him and he moved the timing.. fired it up and drove it home in front of them

@ rodney87: im not sure ill even put another radio in it, if i do, how much would u want for it?

Somthing Similar happend to me... i didnt know much about 7s at the time and tried to get one going(not a smart move anyway) but alas after 6months, and no results, asumed the engine was blown or somthing more serious was wrong, so i traded to a member on this forum, and within about a week, had it running... i was happy for him but inside i wanted to throw up...
