$1500 and an 86 GXL

Ok guys and gals. I am going to be getting $1500 moneys this week, and I am planning on spending it on my GXL. I just have a racing beat dp and presilencer, and a 50hp shot. I am wanting to get as good of numbers as possible out of it. I was wondering if it would be better to try and get the motor street ported, or if I could get better numbers buy just adding exhaust and a flywheel and mabey a better fuel pump and run a bigger shot. Or should I try to buy a used supercharger from a forum member? I saw that a guy has one for sale in my price range, and I would love to have it, only he said it blew the previous owner's engine while getting tuned, and I really dont need my engine blown, would it be safe on mine running low boost? The car has 136,000 miles on it, as does the engine. I have a new transmission that I will be installing, so it will have to come off anyways.
Thanks in advance.

rebuild that engine & get it ported.
with 136k on the motor its probally getting tired and you don't want to blow it by making it push really hard

PM CoolCars44. He can do a rebuild for you and port job for a very reasonable price and everything I've heard about his rebuilds is positive. I personally have had some engine work done by him and I was very impressed.
BTW: He lives in Washington, NC.

I forgot to mention that I checked compression and it has 110 on all 3 sides of both rotors. I dont know if that will help in the decision.
