is $1165 a good deal for an 86' 13b engine?

or you can get one from an importer.....and before you ask any more questions:
You may wish to use the search function next time. It is found in the upper right hand corner and can help you find threads like this that have been covered quite a few times.
The long and short of it, is that most Jspecs have been sitting in Japanese Junkyards for 12+ years now and getting a decent one is a crap shoot. Getting a decent one that drops in and works perfect for more than 6 months is even more unlikely.
The upside is that generally the are great for rebuilding. After being rebuilt they can last years.
As far as swap info please search on that. It has been covered to death. There are links on this and other information found in the FAQ for FC sticky thread at the top of this section.

Why don't you quit being such a jerk to the noobs.
Anyways, I got a good JDM motor for $1200 shipped, it dropped in with little to no problems, and has ran STRONG for over a year and a half (and shows no sign of crappin' out soon).
Don't let the crabby anti-noobs bother you, they get their rocks off acting superior to new guys.

You are not the savior of the rx7club...there are a lot more polite ways to help the noobs out...at one point you were a noob, next time just help out and leave the smart *** comments out.

jspec motors bad..a good 80% do not run when you get them in the car..if i was you i would buy a motor from a forum member in a roller or something,or it might sound crazy well i would do it i would go to mazda and get a reman, but there way more expensive..
Im looking at a 13b turbo engine from jdm as well i seen it for like $1100. It would be sweet when i get it and put it in my 1990 convertible. BTW i believe i will either need to get a new hood or modify the current hood to support the turbo is this true? I mean ill be opening it up more anyways for ventilation. I have a few ideas on how.
