why is it that most fc "low fuel" light dont work???

ive ran out of gas when i first bought my 7, thinking to myself, hey the light isnt on yet i can make it!! lol oh how wrong i was.... lesson learned, when its about to touch the bottom line, GET GAS!!!!! lol

Its a talibon conspiracy. The moment you run out of gas you will be struck by a suicidal Honda.
But it's a flawed conspiracy since a Honda can't go fast enough to cause any significant damage.
Sidenote, low fuel sender failure seems to be more a problem with S5's than S4's.

Sorry to Hyjack the thread but wouldn't this be an issue all the time? I'm under impression that the fuel pick up is at the bottom of the tank... so, wouldn't it be sucking fuel from the bottom of the tank (and thus the crap down there too) all the time? I would think the bigger issue is that running on low all the time would cause cooling issues with the pump not being immersed in fuel.

Cold solder joints in the circuit board is the reason the clock does what it does. Common 2nd Gen issue, easy fix.
I'm under impression that the fuel pick up is at the bottom of the tank.
So where else would you put the fuel pick up?

But back to the real question... The only reason I can think of that you would say it is more likely that you will pick up debris on a low tank because the debris to gas ratio is higer (more PPM debris per volume of fuel).
