I've always loved black and was planning on black or grey, but the paint on mine is in such good condition, the red has grown on me since it really shows off the body, whereas darker colors like black hide it.
If I were to paint it again, I'd go with the red on the Mercedes SL. I've seen it in person and it's really really red, if that makes sense. Not orange-red like the stock rx7 red color, brown-red or some other red that has a hint of a nother color in it, but red-red lol.

In 2004 I looked at tons of colors, and decided on winning blue.
If I were to paint an FC today I would consider:
-A dark/deep metallic red
-British racing green, but again in a metallic color.
-the flat/sharkskin gray on the new M3s

you really can't see it very well, crappy quality. I need to repaint the wing & I was just wondering if the wing came in brave blue mica or in glossy black.

as long as u take the time to paint the door jams, and stuff like that, any color you like. ull always be able to tell the original color of the car tho. Alot depends how much time u take on stripping the car. Removing bumpers, fenders, door panels, ect ect. Also depends how picky you are.

There really wasn't a gray offered on the S5s, at least not in America. The closest was probably Winning Silver (1F) which was a kind of silver with just a hint of red mixed in; lots of people refer to this color today as champagne or gold but I think that has more to do with how the paint has faded and aged over time. Winning Silver was available only on '89-90 GXLs.
