What about this paint scheme
Hi!
I have a white S5 convertible and although it's in very good shape it's paint shows its age.
I want to refresh it maintaining the white base, but was thinking of a four color paint scheme, painting the lower portion with metallic gray, the side mouldings with black and a red stripe along the moulding grooves.
This is a picture of the car as it is now:
This is the same picture GIMPed (no photoshop here thanks):
What do you think about the paint scheme? (not my picture editing habilities )

I would have to agree as well, although your design is unique and not bad, I feel like the all white looks better in my opinion. But hey if you are going for something unique to keep it your own go for it, but play with a lot of designs before you decide on just one yet.

You will be looking at it every day. That is what is important. Paint it the 4 color scheme if it makes you happy. It is different and really does not look bad.

It does look like it could use something...are you planning to paint it yourself or pay for painting services?
If you're not doing it yourself I'd say save the money towards lowering the car or getting a frontlip/more aggressive side molding, my opinion.
I like it white.

I love black cars, never had a white one until now, but if I change the color I would have to strip it all and paint it all and it will take a lot of money (that I don't have)
The idea is to externally freshen it up a bit.

I'll trade my black vert for white one then ha, Yeah but the white looks great I love it personally. But with paint you gotta get the right place to do it or be extremely skilled to do it yourself, my uncle who had my vert before me got one of those mayco paint jobs or whatever the cheap company is to freshen up the black paint a bit and while its holding up alright, there are paint drips everywhere along the trunk and it drives me crazy which is a clear sign of shotty paint job and stuff. I wouldn't be too in a rush it looks like in your pics that your paint is holding up better than most but with white cars its hard to tell if your not right up on it.

Yeah, it really isn't that bad. May be a good polish will take care of the paint and recover the shine to it.
I do like white, but it's a pain to be so careful to not print dirty hands when working on it. And road dirt is more visible over white than metallic gray, that is the real trigger of all of this...
