Vipers Build 2.0 ...the convertible!

hey everyone!! as some of you know... im back!!! only this time, i wont be building a monster!! i will be building a daily driver that looks good im racking up the miles on my evo..so she needs to be a weekend cruiser now......SO... in a pretty short time, i will have a pretty cool little fc convertible... heres the plan, and i will upload pics as i make progress

the car... 1990 rx7 convertible

-bought with mikuni carbs (bluh),racing beat header, test pipe, and needing some tlc

Plans.. (note..all the parts below have already been bought and in the process of install!!)

-gp sport knockoff body kit (i dont wanna hear that its played out blah blah blah.. i dont care!! i love this body kit, and its my car! so deal with it!)

-Volk GR-C 17x8 and 17x9 wheels (freshly restored by rbmotoring)

-turbo hood w/ mazdaspeed scoop

-d2 racing coilovers

-mazdatrix wing (pending purchase..but will have soon!)

-stock stock stock motor, with a catback exhaust

-nardi deep corn suade steering wheel and razo shift ****

thats the basics.. i wont go into crazy detail like, jdm ftps and side markers..blah blah...but you get the point and will see all the progress comments are always welcome and appriciated!!!

also.... i THINK im gonna paint her a deep metallic purple... not completely sure yet

the progress

this pic was after a few hours of work.. but the earliest pic i have

first time rolling fenders

and the wheels

i didnt know you had a kit and rolled the fenders, yeah those wheels might not be aggressive enough , unless you throw a spacer on them than should look good.

Looking good so far Jesse. When do you plan on having it completed and on the road?

In time for the next meet then! Although you not leading with an Evo will feel kind of weird to me. I've never seen you drive an RX-7 before haha.

well, me and ray made some progress yesterday.....

-we got the front bumper completely mounted and painted flat black
-installed the rear coilovers
-finished the fender rolling job
-ordered the wheel adapters ( 1" in front, 1-3/4"rear)
-went to pick a part for misc parts (got a hood release lever, ecu kickpanel cover, and a plastic piece i was missing)

slowly getting there.... main thing i wanna do is get the volks on the car with the adapters to see where they sit with the fenders.. very ansy for that!

oh...and AIT bodykits SUCK!!!!!!!!!!! in the time it took me to just get the damn front bumper to fit and the turn signals and ftps to actually go into their holes, i had already installed my entire body kit on my previous rx7!! Version Select FTW, AIT FTL!

and me and ray test fit the sideskirts, and holy hell.... crappy crappy crappy... will have to spend hours filing everything down to fit...BUT! i only paid @240 for the kit.. so oh well

and heres some more pics

after we started blacking out everything..shes not gonna be red anymore!

after the bumper was installed

my little workshop!

the wheels!
