thought id share some pics of the progress on my turbo swap. i have most everything done. i am waiting on the new turbo manifold because of some fitment problems with this one and need to finish hooking up a couple more things. what do you guys think?

no problem, it actually fit real nice i didnt have to cut that much. i will post up some more pics and what i had to do to get it to fit.

 

what kind of fenders do you have and how do u like them?>

 

raceonusa.com 30mm vented. the fitment was shitty but i like the way they look.

they are a copy of some japanese fender im sure

 

it's be interesting to see the cooling efficiency of an ebay intercooler...

should be better because of placement and surface area, but would be great to see some numbers.

 

You can probably take that BOV in the kit and throw it away.

 

which turbo are you using?

 

it has already been turned into a paper weight. haha

^it is a garret, and im not sure what model the turbo is, i cant find it in any of there catalog's

 

nice job on the fmic shows you dont need one of those $1200 greddy kits i might have to just do the same thing cant wait for more pics

 

How was the piping with the kit? Did you have to come up with custom ones of your own to make it work?

Love how tiny your engine looks.. i want a fmic soo bad now, plus id love to rock a NA hood on a turbo fc =would be kinda cool.
esp when you get pulled over by police and they pop your hood, have them be like "dam i dont see anything in here, just a small *** motor"


and yah, ive spent like $800 on a HKS Type S FMIC for my old 240sx back in 03 before ebay intercoolers ever really became availible.

 

i did not need any extra pipes, i actually had some left over not bad for 320 bones

 

You do realize that you want your oil feed directly on top. I think itll be better for the life of your turbo if you were to rotate your center cartilage a little more clockwise. Also, your oil drain hose is gonna have to be a little longer.

 

My mistake i think i see the fitting now.
