totaled my fc
was driving today, and this hapened.
was driving, looked over my left shoulder to check the blind spot. then i looked straight and a line of cars were slammed on their brakes. i swerve to the left to miss them, and over corrected and went under a pathfinder and hit a Lexus' bumper. was going about 45ish. the engine cranks still, but after putting $2k on a transmission last month, it sucks big time.

Take a note of the rest of the car after the firewall. It's in perfect shape. I've looked at pictures of mostly first gens, but also a few second gens and other cars and this usually holds true. In fact, one first gen I saw was hit at 80 MPH. Hatch area was destroyed, Engine bay was destroyed... Passenger area? Good shape.
A LOT of energy has to go somewhere when you wreck a car. I'd rather it go into bending some metal rather than bouncing my guts all over the place.
OP, good that you're okay. Time to start a part out thread...
What color is the interior? (And are there any dookie stains on the seats?)

Thanks for the good words, people. im not really sure what im gonna do from here. Im most likely gonna try to sell some of the parts that are in a good condition, such as the new transmission that has about 300 miles on it and the engine.
i must say that that i was surprised that nothing in the interior was damaged, and the fact that the airbags didn't go off. i was always thinking that if i ware to crash this car, that since i am 6 foot 3 i would break my knees. but it held up very well. and yea the black interior is still clean.
Rather than a 1950's era car or a large truck where there are no crumple zones so the car stays in great shape, but the driver has internal organ damage due to the collision...

Were these pictures taken at the scene of the crash? If so, it's amazing there is no flid leaking from the tranny or oil cooler. It looks like all the real damage is in front of the radiator. You may be able to find parts and just fix this one to fix this one if you got the time and a place to do it..

I sorta know how this feels, we were on an rx7 cruise about 9 cars and something cut us off up the front and everyone hit the brakes, i stopped like 30cm from the back of an fd but the fb behind me was looking out the window and hit the back of me pretty hard. My fc held up fairly well just smashed the rear bar and pushed the spare wheel well up into the boot floor a little, he copped bent chassis rails and a completely fucked front end

anyways, to the op, i know how you feel, just messed up my toyota thanks to a little **** stick at my school, and ive totalled my first love (rip mistress) thanks to a slide at 50 into a median.
just do what i did, part it out, chop up and junk the frame, sell some parts, new car, all the good **** goes in, you have a better car. at least, that works with me.......being an automotive technician and all.........
