the gap is exaggerated in the pictures, in person it is a very nice lip. I guess it was made to clear a larger IC. Everyone says "oh you need to make a undertray", but until you poke your head under there and see what is involved to make a tray that safely BOLTS to the stock location you would see its alot easier said then done.
Since other lips have made it into these pictures, Mike Lamonica lip, almost a demonspeed lip
borrowed it from my coupe

since we want to talk about function- I actually did extend the tray and took the car for a drive, it actually ran hotter on both the temp gauge and the inlet temp reading, so much for that theory I said to myself.
At first I did not cut the bottom of the bumper off either, but after I did inlet temps went down and engine temps went down, so if we want to talk TRUE function my real world tests concluded that cutting the bottom of the bumper off was the way to go, otherwise you block the whole bottom of the greddy IC from getting air.
I have a new bumper I have yet to put on the car, im going to test the car once again before I cut the bottom of the bumper.
In the real world no one is crouching down on the ground taking a picture looking straight in.

In case you feel like giving the tray another try here a very interesting read about improving cooling efficiency with under trays and hood vents: http://autospeed.com/cms/title_Under...9/article.html
So far I was going off inlet and air temps on the Wolf, logically speaking the lower the temp readings the better the airflow was
