VA Sorry about this

Need some help here , im looking for a stock s4 fc . This will be my first car and i know these cars are old , so whats the first thing to start with when dealing with a 86 fc ?

Change all fluids, belts hoses. Check suspension. tune up. compression check.

run the other way!! haha just messing. basically everything john said. If you havent already bought the car, id start with a compression test. screw what the person who is trying to sell u the car says. check for rust too.

I'd seafoam it too, just to be safe, double check pads and rotors, tire condition, note any funny noises, if they get better or worse, and where they're coming from.

I'd never seafoam a 22 year old rotary, it'd practically be held together by carbon build up.

Lets seafoam my brother's car. 51k miles of an old woman driving it around her city probably resulted in so much carbon buildup that it adds compression.
