Thanks for asking. Progress has been slow. I got a promotion at work and my hours have been irratic. I took tomorrow off and plan to dedicate the entire day to tying up loose ends (installing clutch master), new hose clamps... Then starting it up.

I am a little nervous about my wiring harness routing.. I am not sure that everything is hooked up where it should be.

All the hose clamps were tightened, I pressurized the coolant system to check for leaks and tightened them all up, the clutch master went in, but I forsee an issue the plunger rod appeared bent. I bled the system and the clutch is back to functional. I have to buy a few more lengths of hose to connect the intercooler to the BAC (that is where that large nipple goes to right?)... Basically I need to install the spark plugs wires, the downpipe and presilencer, and try to start this thing.. I hope to finish the details tomorrow.. Much closer. All the vacuum lines are in place, so geez..

you don't need a downpipe and presilencer to start it

If you're sticking with the top mount are you gonna sell that intercooler?

Intercooler sold a while ago. The car started today, let it idle for about 20 minutes. I had some vacuum lines routed incorrectly and for some reason it was boosting at about 2000 rpm and in nuetral......lol

I rerouted everything and the car idles smoooth at 700rpm and starts every time... I have yet to drive it, but I plan to tomorrow,

Woooooo Hoooooo!

Couple updated pictures.. Yes I know I need an air filter... That will come tomorrow. The car runs and drives very well.. Probably my best swap yet.

Last one for the day. Still have some bugs to work out, but for the first time since 1999 this car saw the road under its own power today.

I sold the car cheap as I was in a bind with the Volvo s70 taking a crap.. But I ended up selling it for $3800. With the money from that, and the dead volvo I bought this.. My new daily... Basically I had a dream of an FD, but the money I would have to spend to keep a toy (an FD) isnt worth it to me. I would much rather have fun working on FC's after all they are what I know..

7 series? Hope you can afford a new battery every 6 months. The electrical systems are wacky in those things.

Clean, clean, clean! Love it.

NCross, most shops (advanced, vatozone) do 1-3 year FREE replacement on most of their batteries. Good stuff!

Anytime a battery keeps dying nobody should just throw a battery in it and forget it thats just retarded...theres a reason its happening..whether it be excessive parasitic drain, sulphated, no electrolyte from over gassing. Or it has a dead cell from excessive cycling. Most of those problems can be easily fixed its just a matter of getting an AVR, a battery drain, and parasitic drain test all of which take 5 minutes each.

Hey I work part time at Advance in addition to my full time job and trust me... 5 and 7 series BMWs from the mid to late 90s are constantly coming in with fried batteries. Yes, I said fried. One had actually exploded and was literally sizzling. We have tried drain tests and they all pass. We change the batteries out every couple months. Customers have replaced their alternators even though we tested them as good, and they still had problems.

Not trying to discourage or thread jack you Trevor, lol...
