should i keep the subs? (pics)
My audio system is starting to **** me off. the speakers are about 5 years old and my amp drains my battery (even though i got a capaciter). Not to mention i go through a whole bunch of crap to get any dead weight out of my car bc i plan on hitting every autocross event i can
The only reason i'd like to keep it is bc it looks really nice for car shows and all of that stuff.
What do u think i should do.
NOTE - every thing that is green is now flat black.

That would be because capacitors are not meant to keep the battery charged.
Get a removable box, or switch to SAS Bazookas; that way, you can remove everything when hitting the track\strip.

Nothin wrong with that! My speakers are over 10 years old, and they still sound as good as new.

Yeah... toss those subs and get 2 of these. PPI-PRO12 and a capacitor set up.
Sorry, had to...On a serious note, The stock S4 alternator can handle 400 watts no problem, anything over that you need to start customizing the system. This is assuming your wiring is all good. Im running 2 PRO10's now with 200WRMS to each, and its fine. It might drop to 11.7 V if its hitting its hardest. However I once ran my A1200 with the PRO12's mono, running parallel to drop them to 4ohms. (8ohm subs) It was amazing for about one minute, and it completly drained the battery, and I was driving. Granted, If you know anything about old school PPI stuff the art series amps were underrated (wattage that is). The A1200 actually pushes out close to 1800+ watts RMS when bridged mono.
How many watts are you running now...RMS that is.???

ppi art series are the bomb, i had an A1200 and 2 A100 in my crx, and used the A1200 to run 2 15 inch L7 solobarics, then after i sold those i used it on 4 12 inch eclipse and ive only heard 1 am to compare. it was a huge *** eclipse, no power ratings but it was about 2 1/2 feet long and 2 inches tall all white.
i say keep your system if you can take it out in 5 minutes, also if power is such a problem get a fd alt and a banzai-racing pulley and call it a day.

all mine were stolen out of my car at a police impound lot, needless to say they were willing to pay me top dollar if i didnt tell everyone that someone snuck into a police impound lot that is 30 feet from the police station, and i have never seen any amps like them again. alot of people i know have never even heard of them, and when they see them say they are "ugly". i say they can eat a dick. lol
