Why would you even want to do that?

To answer the question Yes you can. Why do i want to? Well, at one time someone somehow chopped of part of the "M" on one brake caliper. So me being me, i got disgusted over the situation. I also do not want any mazda emblems anywere in plain site (another personal prefrence). My decision came about a month ago when i dissasembled the brakes to sanblast & rebuild them. I am going to sand them as best to my ability as possibe and polish them to a mirrior shine.

Oh yea, its going to be a pain to maintain. Washing the underneith every time before i drive it, keeping everything clean underneaith, making sure everythings polished to a good shine. Its going to suck. I used to do this to my hatch before i started restoring it. SUCKED cleaning the underneith in october, early november.

Its actually fairly easy to keep clean when theres a few coats of wax on it. Grit and dirt just wash right off.

not likely, and even light scrubbing is going to etch the dirt right into the polishing dulling it.

Nah....this aint my first marry-go-round. Its been 6yrs since there was a brake setup put on the front of the awd (dsm) and there still shining getting compliments at meets and . They get cleaned & waxed every couple months. Im not here to argue what so ever, nor am i affraid to work my *** off to up-keep any little detail on my car. Its not my first car like this nor my last. I know what im getting myself into, i have experinced it first hand....On another note, its going to take me months of sanding to polish these things. THen i hear "is it even worth it". Yes why wouldnt it be? WHy do people even wash there car, even own any automobile when theres many more ways of transportation and dont have to worry about getting oil changes, putting air in tires ect ect. Its my car, ill do what i want and thats the way it is. Im polishing my brakes and they will stay that way even if i have to take a wheel off every hour to re-polish it... They will go dull, but shine right back up.

The brakes are not the only thing im going to have to keep up on. What about the manifolds, WP housing, control arms ect ect..got a little more work done on the steering rack tonight, trying to get it polished

This is 360 grit. Still have to go 500, 1000, 2000. Maybe wet sos pad and rubbing compound. Idk all the steps im going to take atm. depends when/how all the little scratches come out. Sometimes theres points when you can skip steps

I think I've found my exact opposite! I sometimes wonder if it's worth it to clean the whole windshield because I only look out through the driver's side, LOL!
Keep up the good work.

If i posted up My DD...people would sht bricks . Just off the top of my head, open downpipe, gas leak on the inside of the car, no carpet, wind sheild leaks so you have to wear garbage bags, holes drilled in the floor board to drain water, shoes get wet when driving in rain, 3 diff size tires, no turn signals, 1 wiper speed, totaled twice never fixed, hit by semi in rear, drivers window dont roll all the way up.

Edit: No plates, they expired the 1st of sept 2011. I fixed the windsheild today..i think. Well i caulked the whole outside of the window/trim, laying about a inch onto the roof and onto the windsheild..so it should be fixed.

Today i picked my nephew up from school. His quote "Russ, your car smells funny. Is this where you throw all your garbage? Its kinda like hoarders. i think were running out of gas because i smell it." Hes 3yr old (be 4 this month)

thats what ive been wondering. I guess ill jsut have to clean them up and paint them. My car wont trap fast enough (140ish) to need a brake upgrade. I also thought about doing away with the factory E-brake setup on the hubs and run a hydraulic ebrack using the factory e-brake cables. Why? Hell idk. Make more work for myself.
