rotary works vmount inetcooler
I was curious if anyone is running this yet? They just released it on 2/25/10. I know they have been doing the work on Jeff Jones's formula d car. Also having some really fast 3 rotor cars shows they know what they are doing. I just bought the kit for my rx7. Price is far from bad. I am really interested to see how things look. I am sure they will be the next big buy for any turbo car here!
on a side note my ebay greddy knock off fmic will be for sale soon |
im about to buy it for my brewfc, it looks legit and well made. pretty damned cheap for a whole bolt in kit, if you ask me

Anybody got the Neukin vmount kit? What exactly comes with the kit? the info on the site is kind of minimal.
1200$ seems like a pretty good deal so i was thinking of buying it instead of a Greddy fmic, but now i might go for the rotary works one? |

the rotary works thread stated it came with all piping, a synchronic BOV, just no ducting..........which is kinda needed.

I tired to go to their website but it was not working, the price sounds interesting, Im assuming it does not come with a radiator or fan correct?

it looks pretty complete and the price is hard to beat. comes with alot of little things most people forget about to like the water neck. If i didnt JUST buy an intercooler, I would get it. I kinda wanted to see how much of the front end needs to be hacked up though |
I tried to go to that site last night and could not, it does look like a steal at $1100
Definitely a next winter project if im not happy with how the car runs this summer |
like i said, it was in their thread. i cant find that thread anymore either. its a complete kit, minus the ducts, but those arent that hard to make.
bomb price, 1300 including the oil cooler, just need some lines and ducting and yuo have a badass kit! Lloyd |
well looks like my kit will be in before my days off. So hopefully i will have installed pics later this week!
|
Well just got my kit.....alot of high quality parts. No instructions, and looks like i am gona have to do something about radiator hoses?
|
pictures man!

ok let me dig out the camera ;)

Looks like a nice kit. I want to see it installed now. :)
|
hell i wanna see it installed to....then i might know where everything goes haha
good thing i have the next 2 days off :) |
you could try pm'ing rotary-works and getting an idea on what goes where. i want this kit, what are you gunna do for radiator hose?
Lloyd |
Anyone considering this kit I would highly suggest you wait till i upload pics!
The radiator sits far below even the stock front bumper. I will have to lift the car just to make it out of the garage. On a side not i emailed rotary-works for install info. I have yet to hear back from them. So figured Id give them a call, but was only given another number to someone who didnt know what roatry-works was. Also looks like the kit was made to have the bar that holds the oil cooler cut off. I know this is a BIG NO NO for clubs like SCCA. So I am now at a stand still trying to figure out how the upper radiator mount goes. |
fan?

IMO: Great Price, and good looking kit!
Did you really think it was going to just 'bolt in'? Whats included from the website: Custom large Aluminum Radiator 3 rows 4 pass Large 3.5 inch thick Intercooler Front stainless steel oil cooler support(works like a front brace) Front lower Aluminum Radiator support Rear upper Aluminum Radiator support Stainless steel brackets and hardware bolts Series 4&5 aluminum Water neck (didn't see this in your pic) Aluminum expansion tank Hoses,Clamps and blow off valve (it does say hoses...?) High performance Oil Cooler with AN-10 fittings(Optional, not included) http://www.rotary-works.com/mm5/grap...it-FC-VM-b.jpg Looks like a nice kit, but I would expect it still requires some 'fitting' modifications or adjustments that you prefer to be changed. Most V mount setups require cutting and welding and fabrication, and this gets you off to a really good start.(need to see it on the car for better idea of fitment tho) You don't want to know what an Actual V-Mount setup would cost someone to fabricate/build at a performace shop. I'd expect ~$1k just in labor... You could use wire/hanger and bend it to the shape of hose you need and go in and find a prebent hose at the autoparts store that will work. |
my biggest complaint about the kit is the radiator. if you see in the pic the lower left side that is the return for the radiator. it is now the lowest part of my car. it sits close to 2in lower then the bracket right in front of it. I am actually gona have it cut off and welded on the passenger side since there is more then enough room for it there.
would have been nice if they had included the radiator hoses. I found that the lower hose works for the top of the radiator. I also now have to have oil cooler lines made too. On top of that it doesnt even come with enough couplers. If you are running a stock turbo you will have to buy more pipe and couplers. Luckly I have my FMIC kit to pick from. I am also planning on useing most of the pipeing from my old kit. |
I know a few others were working on a vmount kit with target prices of $2000+
This one does not look AC friendly, seems the Rotary Extreme one might come out as more of a bolt on that keeps as close to stock set up as far as PS and AC goes |
I mailed Neukin, for more info on their 1200$ Vmount kit, seems like a good kit. Anybody got it?
Custom Neukin Intercooler (garrett bar/plate core) Double pass massive Neukin radiator Two 12" electric fans (terminals and wire included) Brackets and frame work needed to install Intercooler pipe with bov flange welded Couplers Stainless t bolt clamps Radiator hoses and clamps Inline coolent fill pipe with cap Louver for hood Sparco hood pins w/ latch and hardware for install That should be it, added a but more description. These are built to order and take at least 4 weeks to get out, getting faster now that we have built a few. |
Well i am mostly done with the install. Just have pipeing and routing the coolant lines. Coolant lines wont be done till i get some work done to the radiator.
