i own an 88 coupe but im thinking for my next project when this one is done, i want a vert. the fc is my favorite convertible sports car. i don't care for any other vert on the market. but then i again, i really love the fc.
i've also thought about making a custom hard top (notch back) for a vert while keeping a functional targa roof.
i guess i just wan't one of every style fc

I guess I really don't understand why there has to be a targa section of the roof. I think it looks dumb. I would definitely rock a 240 vert over an RX7 vert. Don't get me wrong though, any other time I would take the 7 over the 240. Just not for a vert. And it has nothing to do with the quality of the pictures. What a lame *** excuse.

Although I don't agree with the original poster, here's a reasonable answer:
Because the top should only be up during really bad rainstorms when there won't be anybody standing around to look at the car.

I think they look odd with the targa piece off.. otherwise they look fine imo. I just think the targa hard piece looks bulky with the top down..
I always liked the Z32 vert as well, I like the european roadster looking top. Though I see too many of them with the plastic windows all foggy and messed up. http://www.carma-autoblog.com/wp-con...n-z32-vert.jpg http://i729.photobucket.com/albums/w...ta/Z32Vert.jpg

So opinion's are like.........yeah. I have to disagree with you here. Have you ever read about the engineering that Mazda put into the design of the top (to keep it relatively lightweight), while retaining the structural rigidity of the coupe's top? The automotive press lauded Mazda for the engineering as well as the aesthetics. Again, to each their own but you liked the 240SX vert (cowl shake and all as I have ridden/driven in several over the years?) over the RX7's? Wow, might as well have said you like an old Celica with an autotragic as they were both basically in the same bland type of Secretary-Mobile genre back in the day.
