Potential tail light option?
So I stumbled across a picture of a Mazda Etude.
The tail lights look very similar to rx7 FC ones and look pretty cool.
I was wondering if this has ever been tried? Does anyone have access to the lights?
We get them here in NZ, but they are super rare.
Here is the Etude...
If they can fit I would be pretty keen.

ive always wondered this seeing them from time to time driving around. you kinda get your hopes up that you are about to see a rx7 (not that common to see a fc rockin around) then you get up close....oh one of those.

He's not talking about moulding them in. He's saying they could possibly be a direct fit, or a close fit.
The stock lights aren't poorly designed, but some people like subtle little things to set their car apart. It's the same concept as a body kit, clear turn signals, converting to S5 tails or trim, hell even getting an aftermarket shift ****.

I like the s5 tails, but then again I am a fan of tails that go all the way across. If 1st gen talon tails were close I might try and retro them, but If it required any "molding" **** it, I would just get some s5 tails.

I'm S4 all the way. But the thought that there might be bolt on tails from a different car... Pretty intriguing.
Oh, and if you come across some of those, I'd ****** them and try them. I researched the car some, and they only made about 10,000 of them.

Can you guys really not see that they are different shapes? Aside from the fact that ours are not as tall, the contour towards the front of the light is totally different. Also, this is Mazda we are talking about, they do not like to recycle parts as much as other manufacturers. Look at how many parts are different just from s4 to s5, and this is the same model of car.

I'm pretty happy with my standard s4 body and lights but I just thought these would look pretty cool and unique.
If I ever come across some for super cheap I'll try it or at least get some measurements.

Yea these definitely arent a drop in tail light they are different shapes plus I have never even seen a Mazda Etude or really even heard of one til now. On top of that the S5 tail lights look better and you can always mod the S5 tails to make them look better. Personally I like the look of a stock USDM S5 tail light without any special LED lights just stock.
