Possibly leaving to the Army, what do I do with my RX?
So I'm thinking of enlisting full time with the US Army, and I'm almost 100% sure I'm going through with it all. Basic training is 9 weeks which I then graduate and get deployed wherever it is they send me to.
My question is for those who have served or are serving in the military, is there any point during service that I could have my beloved RX-7 shipped to me?
I'd be really depressed if I'd have to get rid of it.

Keep it at home until you get to go to your first duty station. The Army will ship it from one duty station to the other when you PCS but your going to have it with you. Good luck and thanks for serving.

Don't forget you still have your MOS school after basic. But he's right, no need to sell it. Once your out of IET (Initial Entry Training) you'll be able to have it with you most everywhere you are stationed.
A couple of guys here are MOS school with me have theirs, but its only on an approved basis and if your school is long enough to warrant it. however, you are responsible to get it there. What MOS are you going into?

1. Yo just don't listen to what people say when they tell you that you can bring your car to AIT, because you can't unless you're there for a very long time. I went to 15T (Black Hawk Mech) in VA for 17 weeks and even then I didn't get to.
2. You also don't need it shipped if your first duty station is CONUS because you just go home pick it up and drive back, they don't expect everyone to show up somewhere and walk everywhere :X
3. You'll get the opportunity to go home a couple of times in AIT (I went home for memorial day and 3rd of july) they will tell you are not allowed to drive while you're there... listen to them.. you feel so invincible after completing basic and all that **** that I crashed my fc.. should have taken their advice.
4. Good luck dude make sure you pick an MOS you really like because you'll be spending a lot of time doing it, don't sell yourself short, take any school that's offered and work real hard. Hope you take everything out of it you can and you'll have one nasty car when you're done.

I'm a 25P. Bravos is pretty long AIT. When you get phase 5 you can turn in a packet for driving. Remember that in 25 series MOS's you can go anywhere in the world. I am currently in Okinawa where we are all commo. But your FC can't come here. There are mad tight jdm ones here to buy though lol
Thanks for all the responses, really appreciate it. To those who responded and who are currently in active duty, do you guys have your 7's with you?
And to AsianBob, if I were to be deployed to Japan trust me, I would gladly buy a nice jdm version of my 7.
Thanks again to everyone.

If you get stationed stateside you can bring your car with you anywhere. Most people will drive there cars to there next duty station. You get reimbursed for your travels (gas, food, lodging) for a certain amount of days. You get so much money per mile, and they count the days by how many miles you have to travel
