Are there mounting holes in the body work that wold need to be filled in for the molding? Now I'm thinking about pulling mine on my S4 Vert......

Why can't this forum give me any good ideas that will keep out of trouble?

How hard is it to remove the moldings?

One of mine is falling off and I think it's just held on with some type of glue. I'm probably going to pull that one off to see what's underneath it, and if there are no holes, just clean it up with a hair dryer and some Goo-Gone. Otherwise, I'll just get some all-weather automative glue and stick it back on.

They are held on with glue and clips. The doors and skirts have small holes about 1"x1/2" where the clips snap in, and the side marker moldings have two small holes each like the doors and about a 3"x1" hole for the light and two screw holes each. The hard part about getting rid of all the moldings is the bumpers are intergrated. You would be better off getting fiberglass bumpers and/or weld in a strip of sheet metal into the body lines of the body, doors, and fenders. Hope that helps someone a little. Here is a pick without my door moldings after I painted my car, and you can see the holes in the doors I was talking about.

I'm still considering doing something like this to my car, and I have a spare rear bumper and beat up driver's side door that I might be able to practice on, too. I wouldn't just pull the trim, I'd make the surface smooth.

S5's only have the clips in the doors. S4's only have clips on the front and rear 1/4 panels.
