Partial s5 conversion and BBS verts

Snapped some new shots after a wash. Showing the partial s5 setup I'm running. Side moldings and tail lights so far. Bumpers are coming soon. BBS wheels are new too.

Honestly I prefer the feel of the cut springs over the OEM shocks/spring setup. It drops the car 3-4 inches (center of gravity greatly improved) and there is far less travel for the shock so it corners better with 90% less body roll. It rides surprisingly well except for huge dips on the interstate where they patched over lanes etc.

It doesn't feel bouncy at all. Except on those big dips, but it very quickly stiffens back up. The fronts have a trick to doing them properly, but the rears are easier.

The key is doing your front springs right. Cut to the 2nd coil. Cut the driver and passenger spring precisely even. Keep the rubber piece at the top to help seat it. Then go down to Home Depot and buy some 175 pound zip ties and some smaller 50 pound or so ties. Use them to safely secure the top and bottom of the spring in place so it doesn't unseat under load or bumps. About five 175 pound ties should be used on the tops per spring.

There are 4? fairly large holes on the top and bottom of the spring mounts that you can feed the ties through to fasten the spring to the shock.

I've been driving this way for 2 1/2 years with no problems. I'm planning on coil overs though someday.

BTW, I snagged the wheels from Justin Pawlak (Formula D). He's a good seller and I'd recommend you buy his stuff.

Got bored and gutted the primary and secondary pre cats. BIG difference in power. I must have regained 10-15 horsepower. On my spirited drive last night I heard 3rd gear chirp

Sounds awesome too.

Wow, that's a '90s Accord front lip? Not bad of fit. Could you post more pics of it, please?

Car looks good man. Very, very clean and that exhaust really sets it off. That wrinkle finish on your interior matches the rest of the wrinkled stuff but looks a bit weird to me.

The center bezel was cracked in 2 or 3 spots so I "repaired and refinished" it. It was either a smooth high gloss, flat black, or wrinkle finish. I chose the latter since I had never used it and wanted to experiment.

The lip is 4 inches too wide originally. I had to cut 4 inches out of the center. It is also flipped upside down to jet outward instead of inward in hopes that it will force more air into the radiator and intake funnel.

The car will have a front and rear series 5 bumper before too long. I'm in between jobs at the moment so I can't go blowing my money on car parts unless it's maintenance.

My plans are getting the front and rear bumpers and coil overs. I'm keeping it NA until the motor pops, then I'll more than likely throw in a stock T2 motor.
