OMG! I'm getting my baby back... And I don't mean ribs..

I sold this car in 2007 after buying my house and regreted the sale ever since. I saw it back up for sale after being canibalized and half put back together. It is a 1991 N/A with 104k orig miles, swapped with a jspec, lots of goodies. Just needs to be finished. Sold it running, the guy drove 500 miles and then went overseas so there it sat in his garage for the last 5 years.. It was the cleanest rx7 I ever owned, and can't wait to have it back in the garage. Having it towed home tomorrow.. Very excited if you can't tell.

My plan is to get her running again, see how she does, then make a plan for her future. My winter cb750 cafe racer may be on the back burner. I'll post up some updates if you care.

when i had it-

You can't beat a stock s5 T2 body. I've owned mine for over 2 years now and still see no reason to change it. I have no idea what the lip is, but it looks great.

that video is awesome the nostalgic feel you get when watching it. what it would have been like to be old enough to buy an fc brand spanking. aaaahhhhh imagine it. Japanese manufacturers need to do a reproduction re-release of their iconic cars of the late 70s,80s and early 90s. ae86s, fx-gt, sa22, fc and fd brand new, 240z, 300zx. skylines-c10, c110, r30 2000rs, r32 gtr, s13, mk3 and 4 supra, crx, ef and eg civic, nsx, na6ce mx5, hb cosmo, aw11 and sw20 mr2, rs legacy and many, many more.

Congrats, that is one clean looking s5!

I'm with Hypertek, I love that stock body.

Nissan bought back some old 240z's and restored, then resold them

I did a little work today, Prepped the gas tank to go in, mounted most of the exhaust, cleaned out the extra parts from inside, and made a list of all the stuff that is missing...

No OMP- Guess I am going to have to Rtek7 chip it
No T2 throttle cable
No Centercap on passenger side front
No BOV
No Charge Pipe
No Radiator Hoses

I have lots amazing extra parts that came with the car, so hopefully that can offset the cost of the nickel and dime to death that the little missing stuff is going to cost..

Good story, I can imagine how weird it would be to work on a car, sell it, and then buy it back to work on it all over again. Haha looks clean though!

Ugg... The more I dig into this car the further I get from it being on the road.. I keep investing money but I am not getting anywhere...

New parts ordered-

MAZDAtrix Driveshaft
Rtek7 1.5 chip
Radiator Hoses
CLutch Slave

Stuff I still need:

T2 throttle cable
Tires
S5 Turn signals/housings
fix the neglected paint
Radio
Gas... other crap.

I think I bought this one for nostalgic reasons, and didnt really think about the cost to repair. And honestly the last several years has been rough on the paint so now I have that to contend with. Just a little bummed..

Why does the car have to be put together asap with no time "wasted". Why cant you just relax and take your time?

My house is for sale so the garage has to be clean, PLUS I may be moving out of state and need the car to be driveable/put together.. If the car is driveable under it's own power I can move it to storage/a buddy's house while the house is for sale. A potential buyer complained to my real estate agent about "all his cars"... Just frustrated.

funny enough, some idiot would actually buy a shitty economy box ae86 straight from the factory if they were to had a limited run of them straight from lolyota

don't need to own one to know they're ****. I driven plenty of ae86's, they have all been gts. one of the most blandest car from the 80's I have ever driven. typical from toyota,of course. not sure why a lot of people have a hard on for a shitty economy box.

face it, it's just a pos rwd corolla in the end. the ae92 was a far superior car, and it was FF.

don't want to derail the thread anymore. OP, glad you got your car back. it looks fantastic.

Congrats...

I too am looking for my old FC (12 years ago). I sold it to a guy that eventually went to jail. I believe his wife took possession of the car, but I cannot find anyone that has her contact information. The last where about was Vallejo Ca....
