Could always go with a cloth top instead of the typical vinyl. Looks a bit sharper and updated as well.

yea i think you should probably stay black, but if your up to cleaning that top then do it white. you could also do it tan.

i have to say though i have seen new beetles driving around that are black with a dark red top and it looks really nice. but your car is white. i can see about attempting to photoshop it and make it believable.

i have a grey top on my vert but that's because its the original one thats faded.

What color is your car. I have a red vert and replaced my top with a Black Robbin's G Cloth top and it looks great. The G cloth (same as Mercedes and BMW) is way nicer than the cheap looking vinyl top.

Got a white 91'.

I just put 10 AE tail lights on it and I was thinking how clean it looked with the white tails on. So that started to get me thinking of a white top, keep it all around a clean white car. Now I live near Seattle so it rains a lot here so it will some what keep its self clean... ish. But ya keeping it clean will be abit harder. Yet I think it be worth it if I can keep it up lol.

But ya been tossing around the idea of doing a cloth top to, but with how cash is doing I just dont know if I can get one at this time. The vinyl top is cheap and will work cuz I am in need of a new top... like I said I live near Seattle lots of rain haha.

PS: Death to little kids at walmart with sticky coverd candy dirty hands! lol

PPS: Sninker vary VARY nice vert!!! I love it vary clean. Full TII conversion?

Stick to black vinyl. It's more durable than cloth tops; especially if you use vinyl protectant on it all the time like I do. I think it'd look strange with a white top too, and some of the other colors out there don't look right. Not a fan of the red/maroon VW tops either. They remind me too much of the beautiful maroon FC interiors.

A white on white vert would look hot. If you could do the entire interior white and make the car triple white it would be the first reverse image of a triple black vert.

I have seen pics of a white vert with a white top somewhere on here. I think it had black interior.

white tops are nice, when they are new.

once they get old they look like ****

picture those 90's mustangs when they had the white tops, they looked sharp when you had a garage kept mint car, but the ones left outside and used daily looked TERRIBLE

Yes Yes I did and it looks much better lol just feel in love with the 10 AE lights... dont know if I would do it with normal S4 lights but the 10 AE are god like.

lol its good to know I did somthing on here to make someone go ""woaaa"".

How long did the 90's mustangs last? Did they have vinyl? I am not a fan of mustangs, never look at them.

You guys almost have me to stay black... but yet the idea of somthing a little bit differnt then any of the other keeps pulling me back in.

if you keep the car in the garage then get white, but be sure to buy a matching nylon jogging suit and some of those keds with no laces, wear those with no socks to complete the look.

Someone could probably photoshop a white top on a white vert.

I am sure somebody will post it at some point.

Did you buy that material or did you find a site that was already stitched up and ready to install?

What makes it different, durability?

you can buy the tops already made in the cloth material, it is a upgrade.
also a lint and dirt magnet- definitly better in the garage as well.

Convertible Cloth Top

It a top made by Robbins Auto Top. They sell the complete top, but you must reuse the original hardware. The cloth tops are like what you would find on mercede's, Bmw's and Jaguar's, corvette's ect. It seem like the cheaper vinyl one are found on Mustang's, Lebaron's, cavalier's, sebring's etc. The cloth just looks classier and of much better quality, in my opinion of course. it does attract lint, but easily washes away, I don't know about dirt, it is a black top, so dirt can't tell, but if the top is down I have the boot cover over it and when it is parked in the garage I have a car cover on it.

Robbins used to be the only ones who made the tops for these cars, now there are ebayers and other companies, but robbins is the original.

I have a robbins, but a canvas. When I did the top I kept the car outside and used it just about daily, now that its retired and lives a easy life and I might have went with the cloth top.

Haha it's all good man. I did go to that website and it doesnt show prices. I noticed they showed a few different cloths but I wasnt sure which one it is.

I ran into one of their dealers (I assume) webpages and it was like 1k without drain hoses and such. Quite a bit, but I would say worth it if it looked clean.

Do they come with those "tenflax fasteners" (sp?)???

Also, when it comes to posting pics, get a photobucket account. Upload them there and once you upload them it comes up with code you can copy and paste into forums. Makes it super easy.
