My work in progress - A few before and after shots
I picked my 90 vert up this past August and from the CarFax, I am the fifth owner. The previous four evidently didn't know how to keep a car in decent shape so now I am working on fixing the issues. So far on the mechanical side it has a new CPU, headlamp switch, wiper switch. brakes, tires and alignment. The engine was a rebuild and has around 20K miles on it as well as a pretty new clutch and Racing Beat exhaust. One of the wheels is bent and I have a replacement to remount the tire on.
On the appearance side, there is much work to be done. I have replaced several a/c vents, put a cover on the steering wheel (temporary fix as the wheel looks like a dog had chewed on it or something), replaced the top (went with the cloth versus vinyl and it looks incredible), recovered the seats in new leather and my most recent project was putting a new head unit in this past week as well as new speakers. I'm not into subwoofers and multiple amps but did want something with Bluetooth built in as well as HD radio and a USB port. Picked up a nice all-in-one from Crutchfield under the Dual brand. Low-end but so far I like it very much. Pretty easy to install with the Crutchfield connector kit, etc. Also on the plus side, I was able to keep the vert headrest speakers which I really like.
Next major item on the list is paint. I'll tackle that when it warms up in the next month or two.
So, on to the before and after pics:

The top and seats look really, good. I like the different design on the insides of the seats, makes me think RX8. Those before pictures of the top and seats remind me of my old 'vert that I parted out. Glad you're cleaning one up
Thanks. I've been wanting a vert since 1991. I actually went to Atlanta in '91 and thought I had a deal to trade my 85 FB on a white vert but the dealer started pulling some crap with me and I told them to keep their car and I walked away from buying one. Every since I've wanted to pick one up at a decent price and fix it up. This one ended up being a little more of a fixer-up than I really wanted but at the end of the day, doing a good bit of work on one yourself is satisfying too!
The interior portion of the seat is actually just perforated black leather. The camera flash makes it seem a little different. When we actually get a warm day with some sun I will drop the top and get some better shots. The pic of the top does not do it justice either. I was really impressed with the upgrade that the cloth top gives to this car. With some fresh white paint and a little polishing on the rims, it will look pretty darn good.
