Thanks for the kind words guys. I'm kind of losing my motivation though. As bad as I want to drive this car, the fact that I can't make it run is starting to frustrate me. I'm honestly thinking about selling it.

$301!

It's a TII right?

Seriously though, I hope you find your motivation. It really is worth it in the end.

Yea, it's a fully stock turbo II with a freshly cleaned gas tank and new fuel pump. I'm hoping warmer weather will motivate me to get it finished.

If I was to pull the motor to have it rebuilt, can anyone recommend a reputable rebuilder in the midwest? I don't want anything special, just a stock rebuild with beefier apex seals. I'd like to stay under the $1000 mark getting it running.

Good luck with that.

How much does a nearly stock rebuild normally cost? I've had 4 cylinders rebuilt for around $1000, I thought a rotary might be less since they're so simple.

I'm guessing that since there's not a high demand for rotary rebuild kits then they're pricier, and the number of rotary skilled mechanics compared to the rest of mechanics is slim.

Why are you so certain that it needs rebuilt? Have you checked compression?

The engine ran pretty well. I don't think it needs rebuilt yet, but I would like to go ahead and start with a fresh motor. I haven't been able to drive it yet though, so I don't know if it's down on power or anything.
