My new pile
I haven't really posted on here since I first joined, but I plan on being on here a lot more since I picked up my first 7. Got this '86 for $300 over the weekend.
So far, it needs a windshield, a starter, both power window switches, and lots of TLC. The body has no dents or rust, but the paint is VERY rough. Once I get her running I'll concentrate on making her look good again.

I really don't want to do a v8 swap, but every 7 guy around here has done it and they all highly recommend it. I want to do everything I can to keep the rotary though. Right now it's seeming impossible to find a starter. I've had ATF in the rotor housings for a week now, hopefully it hasn't damaged anything.

Then don't do it. They probably recommend it because the rotary is dangerous black magic to them. **** 'em. I'd never built any motor in my life and I ported, clearanced, rebuilt etc my TII's motor and even changed the slipping clutch while I was at it. It's now putting down ~240-250rwhp on the stock turbo and I love every second of it. There's way more in the motor, it'll get there one of these days.

I have a starter you can get cheap ($25 + shipping). I'm only 2 hrs from you, so you could come get it if you're ambitious. PM me if interested.
If you intend on "going over the dark side" as it's referred to around here, expect to get flamed by true rotary enthusist.
Once you get a starter and a fresh charged battery I would recommend doing a compression test first thing. You can youtube 13b compression test and see how it's done.

After you finish the an LS swap, you could have rebuilt and made a very reasonably quick 13B.
