My first welding project for my TII.....I ended up moving it a bit further down the DP but this is the only pic I took. I have managed to clean up my welds a little bit but I am a beginner still. Mostly I just weld lawnmowers, tractors and random crap.

Flux core is awesome for backyard type projects. It has it's quirks and is a bit of a dirty process but you really can't beat it for convenience, cost and ease of use (once you get the technique down and the machine set right). It's still one of the most widely used industrial processes.

Here's a bit of my stainless TIG welding:

Flux core!

I'm in school for welding, but I doubt anyone want's to see how a noobs welds look.

And for what it's worth, Aaron's job on that manifold look like a labor of love! Flux core is pretty hard ("WATCH THE PUDDLE!").

I've recently started learning how to weld. I began practicing with flux core, I almost got the hang of it, but then I ran out of wire. I haven't gotten a chance to try it again since then, but I definitely want to learn. Once I put my car back together and get it out of the garage I can start practicing again .

I'm using a Lincoln wire feed with flux core as well.
