before you get rims, do a little maintenance first..change all fluids..etc...then start looking into the stock FC convertable BBS rims...they're very light weight, durable, and looks dope! Good luck and welcome to the club!

i also wanted to know a couple of quick things:
1) how can i get the most mpg out of my fc. i know it's going to get about 15-18 mpg. any upgrades to get more?
2)i had a friend say running a rotary lean can cause detenation earlier in the engines life, apex seals for example. i want to know if thats true or not?

You could do the 5 lug swap. I frequently see all the parts down at the junkyard and a rebuild kit for the calipers is not that expensive on mazdatrix.com (just to be on the safe side). You can also check the classified section on the forum or post a "WTB 5 lug swap" thread and see what happens.

There's a lot of threads if you search for "4 lug to 5 lug swap/conversion".

I'm not sure if that was in there or not, but try to grab the brake booster as well.

And if you go LSD get a clutch type out of a series 4 (86-88) GXL or Turbo II.

Try pushing it open while you're pressing the button. I have to do that on mine. After that it's ok. If it won't do any of that then i'd just search for it. There's so much info here that you can pretty much fix anything.

ok so rb series engines. thats cool. deffinately bookmarked it so i can come back to it after my five lug swap.

so i started my car up yesterday and when it turns on it goes all the way up to 3000 and then it falls to some were between 2k to 2.5k and stays till it warms up a bit then it drops to the 1k area and then when its warm warm it drops to 800. when id did that it started to bounce like it was about to die but it keeps pushing the idle up to keep it alive. is that ok or is it too low and i need to adjust the throtle posistion sensor??

yes you need to adjust the tps.

as far as fuel mileage goes....

NGK plugs and wires, get the correct heat range (7/9)
Full 60k tune up with all synthetic fluids(except engine)
Clean the fuel injectors
Change all of the vacuum lines and intake gaskets
New oxygen sensor
Adjust the idle, tps, and idle air fuel mixture according to the FSM.

If your car still mis fires a bit, redo your starter ground wire to your battery as well as the battery to chassis ground..
