i might try it.. they cheap enough..My FTP lense when i first got em, i had to refinish em/take em apart to clean em since i got em for a junk yard, so i already know how to open em...

Figure get the led clusters, open up the FTP lense, drill a hole for the wires to go out, then glue the led strip via adhesive sealant glue, then seal up the hole wiht the wires passing through with the glue as well. Then wire them up. =p

I just used their smaller cluster for license plate lights , so its getting addicting playing around with these =p

all you need to do is buy the amount of led you want and buy the same amount of resistors acording to the color of led. drill holes that are perfect for the led. the led have edges on them. you can press in the led to the hole and have it not push all the way threw. then you wire up like shown below. the bare pegs get a ground. the red wire is obiously a power sorce.

i did this as my first LED project. i need to go back in and put more led in there so it doesnt look so "wierd" and "ricey" but hell . it was a try .. and it turned out great

i broke one led on the passager side so it does not light up.... so there is a big gap. other then that. if i were to do this again i'd put 3 times as many led and not nessasaraly the more expencive "supre bright"

again this is a trial and error project. not to look good. but just to try and see if i could do it. honestly i really dont like how they look right now.

I'd just pay the 9-12 bucks for the light rail. You're spending a few bucks on LED's and resistors anyways.

well i spent less then 10$ on 10 led and 10 resistor at a local shop. online they are cheeper, http://www.oznium.com/ but i didnt want to wait. i wanted to try it right away.

and if any led goes out. because its not all inline with one resistor. you can easily troubleshoot and replace one led instead of not knowing what is wrong where. depending on how its wired.

I put driving lights in my FTP's to use instead of those ugly yellow pop-ups. I wish led's were bright enuff to light up the road effectively.

I think they would look great with a denser packing of LED's. If the 2 rows of LED's are bright enough, then the density wouldn't matter.

I think i have jdm pieces, there is a orange lense inside the housing that gives the color... I took the housing apart and removed the orange lense.
