Jross 427's tear down and rebuild thread

so its finally time for me to start a new thread on my project, and i have found some interesting twist on along the way. so as of now (as u will see) the motor is out ad seperated from the tranny, but after breaking two rachets and having my air gun fail, it is on hold, all because of the e-shaft lock bolt. im posting probably at a bad time because i will be gone all weekend, so there might not be any updates after friday till about tuesday (by then i should have the rachets and the dreaded 2 1/8 and breaker bar) so here we go, we will start with the bad.
first, the mysterious hole i have found on the rear iron, it is located were the arrow is, and the close up. also the wierd carbon build up between the front and rear ports, to the left is the rear and the right is the front. also the manifold as what seems to be a dremel bore out on a hole as seen in the pics below. any answers to these would be much appreciated, thanks

does your impact wrench still work? try it again on the front eccentric shaft bolt. but first, you have
to heat it up with a torch to break down the loctite on the threads. i did the same thing and broke
2 ratchets as well, lol.

the pics are a bit blurry, but it looks good so far. new camera time! keep up the good work!

mini update

so here is my mini update before my post later tonight, i have got the eshaft lock bolt off using a better air gun. i am currently waiting for john of evil genius racing to call me so i can go pick up the 2 1/8 socket, after that, the pictures will tell the rest. for the q's, yes i did paint the hot side and manifold with high temp paint, looks great in person. all these pics are off of my video camera (im making a video of the process as this is my senior project) so im just taking pics of the video, and i missed plenty of spots

well till later

update

so this will be my last update till tuesday, but it is a big one. i cracked open the engine today, got the front iron/rotor/housing off and am stuck on the rear iron, i cant get it off, it looks like it is stuck on the eshaft, ull see in the pics. thanks to john at evil genius racing for knowledge and help, great guy. here are my updates and pics of most of the stuff today after the bad start, on my way to school my wheel cylinder on my passenger rear drum went out, so i lost my brakes on my 84 yota pu, sucks, so fixed that and didnt go to school, its the day before spring break so im not missin much haha. im surprised how the rotor bearing and housings look, pretty nice, along with the parts of the stationary bearings i can see, so here are the pics

Mate, you are pretty lucky to find the housings and rotors looking that good. It will save you a heap on the rebuild.
