I'm a NDT Technician (non desctructive testing) Radiographic Technician, Mag Particle (NAS-410).
Took some classes in my free time, but I feel like I should go to college and get an associates in applied science of NDT.
Going back to school when you've been out for like 8 years will be hard though.

not a lot of people into the trades around here, some of you guys should look into it. their are a lot of these jobs available and for some reason kids these days are whispering eyes and dont want to work. i am 27, i am a commercial hvac technician, i made 53k last year and this is my second year as a tech. we have a hard time finding people that want to work and have any kind of mechanical ability. if you are 18, dont really like the idea of college or student loans, want a good paying job with insurance, and dont mind sweating off that big mac you just inhaled, look into any of your local trade shops. i have a 2 and a 4 year old, a mortgage, and all the rest of the stuff that comes along with being married and i have money left over for fun. stop wasting your time at a job that will do nothing for your future, im 27 and feel like i wasted time starting a career path. good luck
22... Automotive Technician for Ferrari/Maserati the past 2 1/2 years after automotive college (still paying loans off). Now that the economy bombed though, even the wealthy are becoming more stingy with money... so I got laid off at Ferrari being the youngest and most recently hired tech. So, now i work at Magnum Collision on the aforementioned brands as an apprentice... lemme tell you, I dont make enough working on these cars... could have made a whole lot more working on lesser cars... The only plus is when you get to do the test drive at the end of every RO... that is priceless...

I'm 20 years old. I work for a local company 2 miles away. What we do there is fill and distribute comissary orders for prisoners in local jails. I have been close to dying a few times, most of the work is done inside the warehouse, though. My annual salary is about $31,000. Every month there is plenty of bump room to buy parts for the BP'd 7.

Everyone's thinking it, I'm just saying it.
"It's a dirty job, but somone's gotta do it." lol
Everytime I get close to dying there's a prison guard to take the **** down. So it's cool. They do their job and I do mine.
I also am paying payments on a 2003 chevy cavalier. I am looking for a truck and a trailer. Could also make payments on those no problem.

I'm a Technology Coordinator for a small school. I don't make a killing and 16.5% goes straight into a 403(b) or I'd spend that too.
I'm older than almost any two of this post's respondants put together and it is less of a question about how I pay for the car than it is how will I pay the credit card bills.
I'm keeping the receipts and will post a write-up on what I spent, but after suspension, wheels/tires, some cosmetics, and a 60k tune-up, it's fast becoming a $10,000 vert.
I had about $8k into the '88 when I slid it into a guardrail.

Web producer + some graphic design
Not making much (yet), but the company I work for is just a few years old and growing fast - even in this economy (don't ask me how
) - so I'm in a good position.
I'm saving up for a new RX-8, so I'm trying not to put much money into the 7, though it's very hard to resist.
