interior revamp

alright so since ive owned the car(5 years) ive always wanted to swap in black interior. while the car is down and ive had the time i decided why not go ahead and do it.

i got the carpet from
http://www.auto-interior.com/Mazda10.htm which i am very impressed with. took alot of cutting to get everything rite and the rear had two spots next to the bins where it came short.

and then i painted the rest of the interior pieces with the interior paint from advance auto which i was skeptical about but it actually turned out really well with medium amount of prep work.

i also got the shift boot ebrake boot and arm rest cover from
http://redlinegoods.com/ which i was also very impressed with.

then got a short shifter from mazdatrix and all the new rubber boots to go around it. it is amazing how much of an improvement it is over the stock. just a flick of the wrist gets you to the next gear.

tomorrow ill finish reinstalling the passenger seat and then get the LED light bulbs to replace the stockers.

so here are the pictures

Lookin good!

I'm going to get the shift/ebrake boot from redline, I was a little skeptical about the armrest though cuz it looks like it doesn't really fit right, how is yours?

Also, don't those gauges block your view? Considered an idiot light gauge pod?

actually the fitment is kinda up to you. if you do it right and get new padding and trim it right then glue it on correctly the fitment is awesome. mine i didnt get new padding or glue but i trimmed it pretty well and the fitment is decent. ill prolly end up redoing it once i get finished with the whole project

the gauges actually dont block any of the functioning stockers on the left. my boost doesnt work. not like its very accurate anyway. the one in the middle sits directly in the middle of the tach so i can still see it fine and its the same thing with the speedo on the right. i just wanted to keep those as low profile not seen by police as possible. ill eventually end up redoing all that.

I've been experimenting with gauges in that location as well.
They don't block too much of the original panel but the focal length disparity is noticeable.

Cool. Now disassemble the door panels and remove the wrinkled foreskin that's behind the door pull and replace it with something more classy.

that looks awesome, tell me you have uncracked center vents =)

Ohh, well that makes more sense now!

The sun shades on those gauges are much more effective up, and shouldn't the e-brake boot should stop below the handle....
