innercooler front mount (pipe routing)
it may be because it's late or because my searching skills are wearing out. I remember seeing some of you guys running the piping between the hood and the radiator support frame. and next to the headlights. How did you do this?
I remember asking someone when i saw his picture and all he said was 2" pipe. hood still closes.
What do i have to do to make the hood close. any cutting triming spacers? give me all the info
pictures would be nice, showing all angles.

^me too
I'm trying to order a kit of intercooler pipe but i'm not sure on the max size/min size pipe. I won't be able to get a vehicle to make runs back and forth to parts store so i would like to see what i will need to do.
I'm guessing not many people will run their piping this way, are there any downsides to this? it looks more simple than routing it by the wheel wells.

It would be helpful if you posted a picture of the FMIC you're intending on installing.
My old school HKS required only one 2 1/2 inch hole under where the stock air box is located. Maintaining my air pump and power steering pump.
Others require an air pump removal and many times power steering pump relocation.
I promise if you search properly you'll find loads of underhood pictures. I just took 2 minutes to search and this Corksport set up came up on the first shot. https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...ictures&page=2
I know there are pictures of my underhood several places on this forum.
All that said, I suggest you simply take your car to a quality muffler shop that has the equipment to bend the piping and have it custom done.

I don't have a/c or p/s and stock fan shroud. battery is in the rear bin.
here is a picture of an intercooler similar to mine. not sure on the brand I have (it was given to me by a friend.)
like in the pictures posted above the pipe is between the hood and the radiator support. That is my concern right now. I don't want to do mods to my car that won't be reversable. when I sell my car i will go back to stock top mount and add the p/s a/c stuff back on. that is why i don't feel too happy about cutting in to the body and would rather do the setup pictured above.

I've NEVER seen an fmic like that pictured in any install thread. To me, looks like you attempting to put a square peg in a round hole, especially considering you want to minimize cutting.
My suggestion, sell that one and get one actually designed for a 2nd gen.
