you guys don't know what doughnuts are? The rubber things that hold up the exhaust.
Hows this a nooby thread? My father who worked on cars for more than 25 years couldn't even get the ******* thing on, I just tried to get it on again.
If doughnuts are easy for you to put on, come on down here I'll give you 50 bucks to get this ****** on.

I ******* hate them too. They actually don't last long either, even using one per side. I guess I need more support though in the Y section.
I usually use jackstands or a jack and jack up the muffler or Y pipe and focus all my strength on getting the thing on. Might want to look into using hose clamps or thick zipties lol.

I got this tool thats like a flat head but bends, that'd be perfect to put over the corksport mufflers hanger, then push it on!
I'll try once my hand feels better I'm not weak at all I was using ALL of my force on this lil tool, it was about twice as thick as a tooth pick, so imagin why my hands hurted... I wrapped it with a rag and thats when I used all my force since it didn't hurt (All force counting the fact that i was on my back ) and they still refused to go on
No thanks, I could forsee zipties melting, hose clamps maybe would be good.
On the corksport, the hanger seems a tad too close to the can to be put on with ease (I tried putting it on the muffler too it wasnt a slip on... I was thinking of cutting the hangers hook maybe just a half cm or so, then it'd go on for sure.

tipties??? hose clamps??
The flexing that the rubber allows is so the exhaust system does not to break the weld points, the bolts that connects flanges etc. Thats what i was told anyway.
I ran over a large dead animal and it hit my piping pretty hard and it made me realize the importance of doughnuts.

Its not a big deal...there isn't enough heat transferred to the hooks to melt a thick ziptie, I know people that have used them with success. As far as the vibration and stress being transmitted to the welds, I think the difference is insignificant but thats only my opinion.
