i guess mother nature thought this would be a good april fools prank...

bucket seat and seat belt kept me safe. was just coming home from work at 8, was going on to the alex fraser bridge (south bound), switching into the right lane, backend hydroplaned kicked out to the left and just swung me into the barrier by the end of it i was facing the wrong way. the driver front hit first then kept spinning and hit the driver rear. im just gonna keep the car and swap my parts, not worth going thru insurance... besides everything seems to be fine besides that wheel and tire, but thats like $300.

actually glad this one broke... it saved the coilover

Mother Nature took it too far, you don't mess with someones car... but that's only a taste of what mother nature can do. Didn't you see The Day After Tomorrow or The Happening?

Does the police report read "Speed too fast for conditions" or "Mother nature induced"?

Sorry about the car.

older pics

old wheels

i was going 80km/hr and the limit is 90km/hr... the bridge was just crazy flooded. on top of everything the cop gave me a $370 ticket for "driving without due care", cuz supposedly 2 ppl called in that my car was driving erratically on the highway... even though i had just gotten on to the highway. ironically enough there was another fc on the highway at the time, so im just going to dispute it and take my chances in court. and unless the person who called in my car shows up and can identify my car, the ticket won't go through. not too concerned with that right now, considering my court date won't be for another year. right now i just need to find a shell.

wheels are 17x9 + 25 rota p-45r, but i was running 30mm spacers in the rear and 20mm spacers in the front

Yeah, 500 other people took that same path within 3 hours and mother nature took it upon herself to nail him... I love it when people blame the roads, nature, or something else for crash... I have had my fair share of single car crashes.. Every single one was MY FAULT... If you are the one behind the wheel in a single car crash, and it wasn't a boulder falling on your car, or a tree... Then it was your fault.

To the OP- Sorry to hear about your car. Glad you are ok, hope there was something you took away from the crash to prevent it from happening again.

Peace.

Your camber settings are F***ED. The reason you hydroplaned is because only 1/2 of your back tire is touching the ground. Wayyyyy too negative camber...

It's too bad it happened though. Your car looked nice.

the title was just a joke... **** you guys act like your married to mother nature... must be hippies or something. besides people crash their cars all the time, even though im at fault it would have never happened if it wasn't raining as hard as it was, that was my point.

i realize my camber prob didnt help and i have learned that i should just be more careful when its raining out, but i figured going 10 under the limit on the highway i would have been ok. regardless, now i just get to upgrade to mintier shell.

yah i know what you mean.. i just had the spacers made a bit too wide. ill prob get them machined down before i put them on the next car so i dont have to run the rears as negative.

haha, i was thinking to use the pic of the broken wheel for a rota motivational poster. but im actually really glad it broke, it took in all the impact and id way rather replace a rota wheel then a tein coilover.
